About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Coordinate and maintain quality control processes at the factory, including production, warehouse, and incoming inspection
- Schedule product and process audits
- Analyze audit results and provide feedback and guidance to the team
- Determine whether materials, products, and processes comply with specifications
- Support commissioning assembly issue resolutions
- Coordinate factory containment, inspections, and product audits
- Manage audit closure activities for the facility
- Manage nonconforming products and quality issues in the Nonconforming Report system
- Communicate and escalate product, process, and system non-conformances
- Supervise and review corrective actions to prevent recurrence
- Prepare and present data for management review, root cause analysis, and solutions
- Work with stakeholders to improve manufacturing, measurement, and verification processes
- Promote awareness of customer requirements, complaints, and concerns
- Provide expertise and mentorship on continuous improvement and Lean practices
- Manage inbound, in-process, and outbound inspection and product audit activities
- Coordinate process improvement implementations and manage inspection processes and resources
- Develop and revise LPA and product audit questions and inspection characteristics
- Ensure proper approval and documentation practices
- Lead special projects and disseminate metric reports
- Manage and evaluate a Product Quality team of 4 to 8 direct reports
- Interview, hire, train, assign work, appraise performance, reward and discipline employees, address complaints, and resolve problems
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree from four-year college and 4 to 8 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 2 years of experience in a supervisory or managerial role
- Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred
- Travel nationally and internationally up to 25%
- Ability to obtain and maintain a valid driver’s license and passport
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future sponsorship
- Functional understanding and ability to perform problem-solving techniques
- Ability to utilize statistical analysis of data
- Understanding of Measurements Systems Analysis (MSA) methods and applications
- Knowledge of continuous improvement and Lean concepts, tools, and practices
