About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Establish and lead processes, data analysis, and accountability for managing technology assets as strategic organizational resources
  • Create enterprise-wide visibility into hardware, software, licensing, and technology investments
  • Ensure compliance with vendor agreements, regulatory requirements, and organizational standards
  • Oversee enterprise software licensing, audits, true-ups, compliance reviews, optimization, and cost-saving initiatives
  • Establish a single source of truth for enterprise technology assets, including ownership, utilization, lifecycle status, licensing relationships, costs, risks, and replacement planning
  • Develop and recommend enterprise technology standards, asset management practices, software licensing strategies, and governance processes
  • Lead development and maintenance of technology policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines
  • Partner with procurement, legal, technology leaders, project managers, finance, cybersecurity, and business leaders on contracts, compliance, risk, and governance
  • Monitor vendor performance and support renewals, negotiations, and purchasing decisions
  • Support annual IT budgeting, forecasting, licensing, asset lifecycle, vendor, and technology spend analysis
  • Analyze operational and financial data and recommend process improvements
  • Lead and develop personnel responsible for asset management, licensing administration, governance, and policy functions
  • Manage, coordinate, supervise, coach, and direct hiring, training, performance evaluations, daily activities, and departmental workflow
  • Report to the CIO or their designee

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Public Administration, Finance, Operations Management, or a related field, or 2 years equivalent work experience demonstrating applicable skills in a relevant industry or discipline
  • Seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in technology asset management, software licensing, procurement, contract administration, compliance, or related functions
  • Five (5) years of experience managing enterprise software licenses, technology contracts, vendor relationships, or technology asset programs
  • Five (5) years of management or supervisory experience
  • Experience developing policies, standards, governance processes, or operational controls
  • Experience supporting budgeting, audit, compliance, procurement, or technology governance activities
  • Experience analyzing complex operational and financial data to support organizational decision-making
  • Knowledge and/or experience in project management, program development, organizing, prioritizing, coordinating, implementing, and managing multiple programs, projects, tasks, and building teams
  • Strong autonomy, reliability, responsibility, dependability, and willingness to take on responsibilities and challenges
  • Advanced-level skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other technology applications
  • Ability to travel in performance of job duties
  • Knowledge of IT asset management principles, lifecycle management practices, and inventory control processes
  • Understanding of enterprise software licensing models, vendor agreements, maintenance contracts, and subscription services
  • Understanding of software compliance, audit processes, vendor management, and technology procurement practices
  • Knowledge of governance frameworks, policy development, standards management, and organizational controls
  • Knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, contract analysis, and cost optimization strategies
  • Knowledge of compliance requirements, risk management principles, controls, and audit processes
  • Preferred: Experience within education, public sector, nonprofit, or multi-entity organizations
  • Preferred: Experience supporting cloud licensing environments including Microsoft, Google, Adobe, and enterprise SaaS platforms
