About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Establish and lead the Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO)
- Create governance, standards, reporting, and portfolio management practices
- Partner with executive leadership to evaluate, prioritize, and oversee projects and strategic initiatives
- Develop and administer enterprise project intake and demand management processes
- Maintain an authoritative portfolio inventory of initiatives
- Align technology and business initiatives with organizational goals and available capacity
- Provide portfolio insights, governance, and recommendations to leadership
- Monitor portfolio performance and maximize organizational value and successful outcomes
- Establish project management practices, tools, templates, and standards
- Develop scalable delivery approaches for projects of varying size and complexity
- Ensure projects meet governance, reporting, and quality expectations
- Improve project delivery through training, best practices, and lessons learned
- Lead project management services across a broad range of projects
- Monitor delivery timelines, budgets, objectives, risks, issues, and dependencies
- Facilitate collaboration, problem-solving, and continuous improvement across project teams and stakeholders
- Develop executive dashboards, portfolio reports, and performance metrics
- Communicate project status, risks, resource utilization, and outcomes to executive leadership
- Support resource allocation, prioritization, organizational capacity planning, and identification of skill gaps
- Lead change management, stakeholder engagement, communication, adoption, and readiness activities
- Collaborate on vendor selection, contract review, and procurement activities
- Monitor project budgets, vendor performance, and contractual commitments
- Manage, coordinate, supervise, coach, and direct hiring, training, performance evaluations, team activities, and department workflow
- Perform administrative duties as assigned
- Report to the CIO or their designee
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Project Management, Public Administration, Organizational Leadership, or a related field, or 2 years of equivalent work experience demonstrating applicable skills in a relevant industry or discipline
- Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience managing enterprise-level projects, programs, portfolios, or PMO functions
- Five (5) years of leadership or supervisory experience overseeing project management professionals or cross-functional project teams
- Project Management Professional (PMP), Program Management Professional (PgMP), Portfolio Management Professional (PfMP), Certified Scrum Master License, or equivalent professional certification required
- Demonstrated experience implementing project governance, portfolio management, and executive reporting processes
- Experience facilitating prioritization and decision-making with executive leadership teams
- Experience managing strategic initiatives involving multiple departments and stakeholders
- Knowledge of project portfolio management principles, governance frameworks, and prioritization methodologies
- Knowledge of Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid, and other structured delivery approaches
- Ability to manage complex, cross-functional initiatives involving multiple stakeholders
- Knowledge of project lifecycle management, program governance, and benefits realization
- Advanced skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other technology applications
- Ability to travel in performance of job duties
- Ability to communicate complex project and operational issues to executive leadership
- Knowledge of organizational change management principles and techniques
- Knowledge of enterprise technology, digital transformation initiatives, and organizational modernization efforts
- Knowledge of governance processes, vendor management, and contract administration
