About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Deliver clinical services to clients with mental health disorders and their families
  • Perform, interpret, and provide feedback on mental health treatment assessments
  • Provide individual, group, and family therapy sessions using appropriate and evidence-based interventions
  • Conduct treatment planning using Integrated Process Based Therapy (iPBT)
  • Participate in weekly treatment team and hotspot meetings
  • Collaborate with treatment team members, outreach, admissions, case management, and outpatient teams to ensure continuity of care
  • Complete progress notes, weekly therapy assessments, treatment plans, discharge summaries, and other documentation within established time frames
  • Participate in documentation audits for licensure and accreditation compliance
  • Communicate with clients' families and provide education and progress updates
  • Provide updates to Utilization Review Specialists and perform Peer to Peer reviews as needed
  • Receive supervision and provide supervision for staff as appropriate
  • Attend trainings and individual/group supervisions
  • Train and orient new staff
  • Maintain current mental health knowledge through literature review, research, consultation, clinical evaluation, and professional development
  • Provide community and provider trainings and workshops
  • Speak with potential admissions and their families
  • Support client care techs with observations, milieu conflict management, and client support
  • Provide crisis stabilization, client check-ins, and assigned on-call coverage
  • Perform other assigned duties

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Master's degree in Counseling-related field, required
  • Associate or full clinical mental health license in the state of California, required
  • Experience in a virtual or telehealth environment, preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
  • Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
  • Able to work for prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
