About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Proactively manage a portfolio of overdue customer accounts and consistently follow up through regular calls, emails, and other customer contacts.
- Work with customers to resolve outstanding balances promptly and maintain accurate, well-managed accounts.
- Identify accounts that need to be referred to external collection agencies, and prepare and forward the necessary documentation.
- Maintain ongoing communication with collection agencies and support the resolution of overdue balances.
- Create and analyze reports in Excel and Google Sheets to identify overdue accounts and prioritize actions.
- Support month-end closing processes related to accounts receivable and payment discrepancies.
- Monitor customer accounts for missed or late payments and other irregularities, and proactively address potential issues at an early stage.
- Provide excellent customer service, respond promptly to inquiries, and resolve issues with a solution-oriented approach.
- Work as part of the Lightspeed Finance team, supporting a cloud-based commerce platform for merchants.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Professional experience in collections, accounts receivable, or a comparable credit control position.
- Fluent German at native-speaker level.
- Very good written and spoken English.
- French language skills are a strong plus.
- Good knowledge of Excel and Google Sheets, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis.
- Experience with Salesforce or a comparable CRM system is an advantage.
- Proactive and results-oriented approach to work.
- Accurate and detail-oriented working style, particularly when handling data entry and documentation.
- Strong time-management skills and the ability to effectively prioritize a portfolio of customer accounts.
- Good understanding of financial processes, as well as relevant financial and compliance regulations.
- Legal authorization to work in the country where the position is advertised must be confirmed in the application form.
