About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design and build data models supporting financial reporting, GTM analytics, and product and operational insights
- Design scalable and maintainable solutions while shipping incremental value and iterating based on feedback
- Translate ambiguous requirements from Finance, Revenue Ops, Marketing, and Product into scoped technical solutions with effort estimates
- Collaborate across the Hub & Spoke architecture with upstream data owners, downstream Looker/LookML developers, and domain pods
- Produce documentation including column descriptions, model contracts, and architectural notes
- Diagnose root problems and drive systemic fixes
- Own pipeline health through proactive monitoring, incident response, and risk identification
- Manage sprint commitments and contribute to team planning, task breakdown, estimation, and prioritization
- Mentor junior engineers through coaching, code reviews, and technical sessions
- Design canonical data models unifying fragmented systems across CRMs, ERPs, and product platforms
Requirements
What you’ll need- Expert-level SQL, including query performance, maintainable code, and advanced analytical techniques such as window functions
- Experience designing enterprise-grade dimensional models on modern cloud data warehouses such as BigQuery or Snowflake
- Knowledge of partitioning, incremental patterns, and performance optimization
- Hands-on experience modelling SaaS, CRM, or ERP source systems such as Salesforce or NetSuite
- Understanding of translating CRM/ERP object models into dimensional schemas
- Proven production expertise with Dataform or dbt, including materializations, incremental strategies, snapshots, and macros
- Understanding of GDPR, SOX, and data access controls
- Experience with CI/CD, automated testing, linting, and deployment workflows is a bonus
- Python or JavaScript for data engineering tooling is a bonus
- LookML or equivalent semantic layer experience is a bonus
- Familiarity with data contracts for pipeline validation is a bonus
- Experience using AI/LLM-assisted development tooling is a bonus
- Revenue and finance domain knowledge is a bonus
