About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Adapt complex software interfaces and support documentation for native Malagasy users
- Localize global marketing campaigns and brand voices for the Malagasy-speaking market
- Localize product and e-commerce copy, including product and UI listings
- Apply regional naming logic and formatting standards
- Uphold quality benchmarks and brand identity
- Coordinate with production and quality leads to deliver projects on schedule and within client specifications
- Contribute to AI and language technology projects
- Complete an application, payment setup, and onboarding after selection
- Take a domain-specific test if required
Requirements
What you’ll need- Native-level proficiency in Malagasy
- A graduate qualification in translation, linguistics, or language studies, OR a graduate qualification in another field plus 2 years of full-time professional translation experience, OR 5 years of full-time professional translation experience
- Ability to follow terminology and reference materials precisely
- Proven professional experience in translation and localization within marketing, UI/software, or e-commerce content
- Experience with app or platform localization preferred
- Reliable availability and commitment; most tasks require a minimum of 2 hours per day or 10 hours per week
- CV must be submitted in English
- Must be able to work as an independent 1099 contractor and be responsible for own tax obligations
- Contractors cannot be engaged in regions subject to international embargoes or sanctions
