About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Adapt software interfaces and support documentation for native Oromo users
  • Localize global marketing campaigns and brand voices for the Oromo-speaking market
  • Localize product and e-commerce copy, product listings, and UI listings
  • Apply regional naming logic and formatting standards
  • Uphold quality benchmarks and brand identity
  • Coordinate with production and quality leads to deliver projects on schedule and within client specifications

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Native-level proficiency in Oromo
  • A graduate qualification in translation, linguistics, or language studies, OR a graduate qualification in another field plus 2 years of full-time professional translation experience, OR 5 years of full-time professional translation experience
  • Ability to follow terminology and reference materials precisely
  • Proven professional experience in translation and localization within marketing, UI/software, or e-commerce content
  • Experience with app or platform localization preferred
  • Reliable availability and commitment; most tasks require a minimum of 2 hours per day or 10 hours per week
  • Updated CV in English
  • Ability to complete a domain-specific test if required
  • Cannot be engaged in regions subject to international embargoes or sanctions
