About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Conduct interviews with individuals and/or families to identify presenting problems, assess mental status and dangerousness, gather psychosocial history, and assign accurate diagnoses using all five Axes of the current DSM manual
- Provide individual, group, and family therapy to individuals of all ages using person-centered philosophies and best practices
- Assess psychiatric crises and provide crisis intervention while working closely with psychiatrists
- Maintain necessary medical records in compliance with state, federal, and agency guidelines
- Assist individuals and families with psychosocial needs by referring them to appropriate outside agencies and providing information within confidentiality guidelines
- Provide crisis assessments, stabilization, and service coordination to de-escalate crisis situations and maintain the lowest safe level of care
- Provide Emergency Services coverage during clinical hours and on-call coverage after hours and weekends as needed
- Maintain licensure and attend educational trainings/seminars
- Maintain positive working relationships with individuals, families, staff, monitoring and licensing agencies, organizations, funding resources, and human service agencies
- Participate in the agency's continuous quality improvement activities
- Comply with agency policies and procedures
- Provide clinical consultation to Monarch professionals for professional development and difficult client situations
- Drive and travel to community locations, agencies, and outreach destinations as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- North Carolina candidates only
- One of the following qualifications required: LCSW, LMFT, or LCMHC
- Maintain licensure as required by licensing board
- Knowledge of the current DSM manual and all five Axes
- Ability to provide outpatient behavioral health services to persons of all ages
- Ability to assess psychiatric crises and provide crisis intervention
- Ability to maintain medical records in compliance with state, federal, and agency guidelines
- Ability to comply with confidentiality standards
- Ability to provide crisis assessments, stabilization, and service coordination
- Ability to provide Emergency Services coverage during clinical hours and on-call coverage after hours and weekends as needed
- Ability to drive and travel to community locations, agencies, and outreach destinations
- Knowledge of and compliance with agency policies and procedures
