About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop and execute a strategic territory growth plan across Northern California and Northern Nevada
  • Identify, prospect, and close new government and public-sector business opportunities
  • Build and maintain relationships with municipal leaders, procurement professionals, law enforcement agencies, school districts, and other public-sector stakeholders
  • Conduct in-person and virtual sales presentations, product demonstrations, and client training sessions
  • Advise clients on best practices to maximize auction performance and revenue generation
  • Partner with internal teams to drive account growth, client retention, and customer satisfaction
  • Monitor territory performance, market trends, and competitive activity
  • Re-engage dormant accounts and increase platform utilization among existing clients
  • Maintain accurate sales forecasts, pipeline activity, and account records in CRM systems

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred
  • Minimum of 5+ years of hands-on experience in business development, customer success, client services, or a related client-facing role
  • Experience working with government agencies, municipalities, school districts, or other public-sector organizations strongly preferred
  • Experience requiring frequent travel, onsite client engagement, or field-based support highly desirable
  • Ability to identify, prospect, and develop new business opportunities
  • Consultative sales skills and ability to influence decision-makers
  • Relationship-building skills with public-sector stakeholders
  • Proficiency using CRM systems
  • Strong organizational and territory management skills
  • Ability to deliver presentations, product demonstrations, and client training sessions
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, internet research, and technology-enabled business tools
  • Willingness and ability to travel regularly, including overnight travel
  • Valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and reliable transportation
  • Professional, quiet, distraction-free workspace with reliable high-speed internet and cellular service
  • Ability to travel frequently through varied indoor and outdoor environments, including uneven surfaces, stairs, and extended periods of standing or walking
