About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as the secondary point of contact for an assigned portfolio of government and public-sector clients
  • Provide onsite asset processing and support clients using the GovDeals online auction marketplace
  • Drive client utilization and performance through scheduled outreach and consultative recommendations
  • Collaborate with Territory Sales Representatives on client acquisition, relationship strengthening, and account retention
  • Catalog assets, gather detailed descriptions, and photograph items in varied indoor and outdoor environments
  • Monitor and review client auction listings for presentation quality, best-practice compliance, and sound auction standards
  • Identify inactive or underutilized accounts and execute targeted re-engagement strategies
  • Present to prospective clients and demonstrate the GovDeals platform’s value for transparency, efficiency, and revenue generation
  • Represent GovDeals professionally when interacting with government entities and the public sector
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Associate’s degree preferred; prior coursework or experience related to business, public administration, sales, or customer service is a plus
  • 1+ years of hands-on experience in a field-based, operational, customer service, or support role preferred
  • Experience requiring frequent travel, working onsite at customer locations, field services, logistics, inspections, or similar hands-on roles is highly desirable
  • Experience working with government agencies or public-sector organizations is a plus but not required
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately document assets, descriptions, and supporting information
  • Ability to work independently in the field with limited supervision
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate with Account Managers, sales teams, and internal partners
  • Comfort using web-based platforms, digital cameras or mobile devices, and standard business software such as email, spreadsheets, and online tools
  • Ability to manage travel schedules and competing priorities
  • Ability to deliver effective training, conduct professional presentations, and articulate platform value to diverse audiences
  • Ability to manage a remote workload, prioritize competing demands, and maintain productivity with minimal supervision
  • Ability to catalog assets, gather descriptions, and photograph items in indoor and outdoor environments and varying weather conditions
  • Willingness and ability to travel approximately 75% within the assigned territory
  • Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, reliable high-speed internet, and cellular service
  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as climbing, stooping, and kneeling
  • Access to a quiet, distraction-free home office
  • Reside in New York City to serve all five boroughs
  • Extensive travel, including frequent overnight stays and extended periods away from the primary work location (50% or more)
