About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assist the Culinary Management team with daily kitchen operations
  • Ensure food quality, staff efficiency, and compliance with safety and sanitation standards
  • Assist management with staffing, training, and scheduling
  • Supervise kitchen activities to maintain high-quality food production and service delivery
  • Maintain inventory levels by ordering products from the storeroom
  • Ensure security, proper use, and control of operating supplies and equipment
  • Follow the New Hire Training program in accordance with hotel policy
  • Attend required hotel meetings and assist with departmental meetings
  • Promote and apply teamwork skills
  • Report concerns or significant matters promptly to management
  • Maintain a polite, friendly, and helpful demeanor toward guests, management, and team members
  • Execute emergency procedures in accordance with Loews Hotels standards
  • Comply with safety regulations, procedures, hotel standards, policies, and rules
  • Maintain cleanliness and excellent condition of equipment and work areas
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 3-5 years supervisory experience in an upscale, high-volume hotel preferred
  • Experience with ingredients, culinary techniques, and operating combination ovens, fryers, grills, griddles, food processors, mixers, slicers, steamers, sous vide machines, and walk-in coolers
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of food service sanitation standards
  • Certification as “Food Service Manager” or other certification, as required by state, county, or local regulations
  • Effective leadership, organizational, and communication skills
  • Culinary degree or equivalent formal training preferred
  • Excellent guest service skills
  • Ability to regularly push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English verbally and in writing with team members, leaders, and guests required
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required
