About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead London & Partners’ presence across the Southwest United States
  • Act as senior representative and subject matter expert across Los Angeles, Austin, Chicago, Dallas, Denver and Salt Lake City
  • Develop market engagement strategies and identify high-impact sectors, companies, investors and institutions
  • Provide senior-level insight on business environments, economic trends and opportunities to leadership
  • Represent London & Partners at senior business, investment, technology and economic development events
  • Build trusted networks of executives, investors, entrepreneurs, government leaders and ecosystem influencers
  • Attract foreign direct investment from the territory into London across multiple high-growth sectors
  • Cultivate relationships with companies considering international expansion and manage prospective investors through decision-making and landing
  • Plan and deliver senior-level investment events, delegations and programmes
  • Support London-based companies entering or expanding in the US through the Grow London Global program
  • Build relationships with US corporations interested in London companies
  • Develop strategic partnerships across the territory
  • Support visits by the Mayor of London, Deputy Mayor for Business and other senior stakeholders
  • Lead and develop the Business Development Manager
  • Manage regional business development and operational budgets

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Experience developing trusted relationships with senior executives, investors, entrepreneurs, government representatives and other influential stakeholders
  • Ability to develop market engagement strategies and understand broader economic, commercial and political contexts
  • Commercial understanding of organisational growth and business decision-making
  • Experience representing an organisation at senior level through conferences, discussions, executive presentations or media
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate across a geographically dispersed organisation
  • Experience managing, mentoring or developing people
  • Genuine interest in London and understanding of its role as a global centre for business, technology, investment, culture and innovation
  • Comfortable with regular travel across Austin, Chicago, Dallas, Denver and Salt Lake City, occasional travel elsewhere in North America and travel to London
  • Experience in international business, economic development, foreign direct investment or international trade promotion
  • Established relationships in technology, financial services, life sciences, creative industries, sustainability or other high-growth sectors
  • People leadership experience
