About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide daily HR support to the Integrated Global Services branch
  • Deliver HR service and advice to branch leadership on employee relations and performance management
  • Collaborate with the People Services team to implement employee-experience programs
  • Administer HR policies, procedures, programs, and disability management
  • Manage compensation changes and promotions
  • Assist with HR trending and analysis
  • Manage HRIS and benefits administration
  • Review quarterly vacation and sick-time balances and handle escalated issues
  • Manage onboarding of new hires
  • Partner with leaders on employee relations, coaching through complex people situations and supporting employee improvement and growth
  • Foster belonging through IGS initiatives, community engagement, and fun events
  • Support the branch Health & Safety program
  • Assist with international visas and immigration matters
  • Support the Career Life Planning process and attend quarterly employee sessions

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience, including significant employee relations expertise
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian employment legislation (AB, BC, ON)
  • Working knowledge of U.S. employment legislation and HR practices
  • Strong employee relations expertise and ability to navigate sensitive and complex workplace situations
  • Understanding of HR best practices and current regulations in Canada and the US
  • High emotional intelligence
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities
  • Sound judgment and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to forge and maintain effective and influential working relationships
  • Passion for working with and helping others and creating a great employee experience
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Comfort working in a flexible and agile environment
  • Education in human resources or related discipline
  • Working towards a CPHR, PHR, or SHRM-CP certification is an asset
