About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support strategic initiatives to improve community health outcomes through data-informed decision-making, stakeholder engagement, and assessment of community-driven interventions
  • Collaborate with community health, program implementation, and evaluation teams on health equity, community-informed solutions, and continuous quality improvement
  • Conduct follow-up analysis of community health interventions
  • Develop frameworks for understanding health disparities
  • Support educational programming for health equity awareness
  • Perform health equity, population health, and quality landscape analysis
  • Review and assess community advisory groups
  • Review health needs assessments and provide recommendations
  • Work with a mentor and support key strategic projects
  • Complete assignments based on business needs, departmental priorities, and qualifications
  • Perform technical and/or non-technical business-related projects
  • Create and deliver a presentation at the end of the internship
  • Maintain confidentiality and protect member privacy
  • Demonstrate integrity and support the company's mission, values, Corporate Code of Conduct, and Lifetime Way values
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance
  • Perform other functions as assigned by management

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Undergraduate or graduate students enrolled in a full-time degree program
  • High School diploma
  • Proof of continuous college enrollment
  • Must be in good academic standing
  • Majors/degree programs in health, public health, nursing, life sciences, social sciences, business, healthcare administration, data/technology, or similar fields
  • Preferred (but not required) experience with data analysis and public health awareness
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to interact with technical and non-technical audiences and staff at all company levels
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced and changing environment while maintaining attention to detail
  • Ability to work well in a team and establish good working relationships
  • Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and prioritization skills
  • Proactive, creative, and flexible approach to completing tasks
  • Commitment to continuous improvement of skills and team functioning
  • Ability to work independently and on intra- and inter-departmental teams
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience using a desktop computer in a professional environment
  • Ability to sit and/or stand at a workstation while using a computer, keyboard, mouse, and/or phone for three or more hours at a time
  • Ability to travel across the Health Plan service region for meetings and/or training as needed
