About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Complete a primary Cyber Defense project tailored to the intern’s interests
  • Shadow the Security Operations Center (SOC) and Cyber Threat Assessment teams
  • Observe and participate in defensive and offensive security activities
  • Work with a mentor and support key strategic projects
  • Complete assignments based on business needs, departmental priorities, and qualifications
  • Perform technical and non-technical business-related projects
  • Create and deliver a presentation at the end of the internship
  • Maintain confidentiality and protect member privacy
  • Demonstrate integrity and follow the Corporate Code of Conduct and Lifetime Way values
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance
  • Perform other functions assigned by management

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Computing Sciences & Information Technology or similar degree program, including Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT Networking, or Cybersecurity
  • High School diploma
  • Proof of continuous college enrollment in a full-time undergraduate or graduate degree program
  • Good academic standing
  • Preferred but not required experience with Cybersecurity, Threat Hunting, Offensive Security, Vulnerability Management, Security Operations Center (SOC) Operations, and Security Engineering
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to interact with technical and non-technical audiences and staff at all company levels
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and delivering high-quality work
  • Ability to work well in a team
  • Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and prioritization skills
  • Proactive, creative, and flexible approach to assigned tasks
  • Commitment to continuous improvement
  • Ability to work independently and on intra- and inter-departmental teams
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience using a desktop computer in a professional environment
  • Ability to work sitting and/or standing at a workstation using a computer, keyboard, mouse, and/or phone for three or more hours at a time
