About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Participate in a 10-week summer college internship program
  • Work primarily on the laptop refresh program
  • Prepare laptops in the Desktop Lab, including imaging and installing software
  • Assist users with transferring data
  • Contact Syracuse-region employees to schedule new laptop appointments
  • Work with Syracuse Desktop Team members and independently after training
  • Work with a mentor and support strategic projects
  • Complete assignments based on business needs and departmental priorities
  • Perform technical and non-technical business-related tasks
  • Create and deliver a presentation at the end of the internship
  • Maintain confidentiality and protect member privacy
  • Attend work regularly and reliably
  • Perform other functions assigned by management

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Computing Sciences & Information Technology or similar degree program
  • High School diploma
  • Proof of continuous college enrollment in a full-time undergraduate or graduate degree program
  • Must be in good academic standing
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience using a desktop computer in a professional environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, prioritization, and attention-to-detail skills
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced and changing environment
  • Ability to work independently and in teams
  • Ability to travel across the Health Plan service region for meetings and/or training as needed
  • Prior tech support experience is preferred but not required
  • Organizational skills and communication skills are required for coordinating and scheduling with end users
