About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support the LAMA Team and gain exposure to affiliates MedAmerica and LBS and their role within the enterprise
- Conduct regulatory research
- Prepare state filings
- Maintain corporate records
- Review policies and procedures and document enhancements
- Work with a mentor and support key strategic projects
- Complete assignments based on business needs, departmental priorities, and individual qualifications
- Perform technical and/or non-technical business-related tasks
- Create and deliver a presentation at the completion of the internship
- Support the Lifetime Healthcare Companies' mission, values, Corporate Code of Conduct, and Lifetime Way values
- Maintain confidentiality and protect member privacy in accordance with company policies
- Maintain regular and reliable attendance
- Perform other functions as assigned by management
Requirements
What you’ll need- Social Sciences or similar degree program, including Psychology, Sociology, Human Services, Law/Pre-Law, etc.
- High School diploma along with proof of continuous college enrollment in a full-time undergraduate or graduate degree program
- Must be in good academic standing
- Preferred but not required: attention to detail, research and reading comprehension skills, and ability to function under pressure with fast approaching deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to interact with technical and non-technical audiences and staff at all levels
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, changing environment while maintaining attention to detail and delivering high-quality work
- Ability to work well in a team and establish good working relationships
- Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and prioritization skills
- Proactive, creative, and flexible approach to assigned tasks
- Commitment to continuous improvement of skills and team functioning
- Self-motivated and able to work independently and on intra- and inter-departmental teams
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience using a desktop computer in a professional environment
- Ability to work while sitting and/or standing at a workstation using a computer and keyboard, mouse and/or phone for three or more hours at a time
- Ability to travel across the Health Plan service region for meetings and/or training courses as needed
