About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Coordinate and verify audit information submitted to the BCBSA for the FEP IPA audit
- Collect data and verify accuracy and compliance
- Verify data submitted by other Operations Auditors
- Learn and participate in the Dental Claims audit
- Forward errors to operational areas and respond to questions about findings
- Help compile month-end data
- Attend Operations Audit meetings where potential findings are reviewed and feedback is solicited
- Work with a mentor and support key strategic projects
- Complete assignments based on business needs, departmental priorities, and qualifications
- Perform technical and/or non-technical business-related projects
- Create and deliver a presentation at the end of the internship
- Maintain confidentiality and protect member privacy
- Attend regularly and reliably
- Perform other functions as assigned by management
Requirements
What you’ll need- Undergraduate or graduate student in a full-time degree program
- High School diploma
- Proof of continuous college enrollment
- Must be in good academic standing
- Desired majors include Business & Management, Finance, Actuarial, Accounting, Management, Marketing, Supply Chain Management, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, or similar programs
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to interact with technical and non-technical audiences and staff at all company levels
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced and changing environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Ability to work well in a team and establish good working relationships
- Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and prioritization skills
- Proactive, creative, and flexible approach to assigned tasks
- Self-motivated and able to work independently and on intra- and inter-departmental teams
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience using a desktop computer in a professional environment
- Ability to sit and/or stand at a workstation while using a computer, keyboard, mouse, and/or phone for three or more hours at a time
- Ability to travel across the Health Plan service region for meetings and/or training as needed
- Preferred but not required: working knowledge of Excel, strong attention to detail, communication skills, group work, and ability to pivot among competing priorities
