About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support Request for Proposal/Information (RFP/I) activities
  • Evaluate vendors and spend categories
  • Lead sourcing initiatives by identifying new competitive suppliers
  • Compile and report on supply chain spend analytics
  • Work with a mentor and support key strategic projects
  • Complete assignments based on business needs, departmental priorities, and qualifications
  • Perform technical and/or non-technical business-related projects
  • Create and deliver a presentation upon completion of the internship
  • Attend development workshops
  • Maintain confidentiality and protect member privacy

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Undergraduate or graduate student with proof of continuous full-time college enrollment
  • High school diploma
  • Must be in good academic standing
  • Desired major in Business & Management, Finance, Actuarial, Accounting, Management, Marketing, Supply Chain Management, or similar program
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to communicate with technical and non-technical audiences
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, time management, and prioritization skills
  • Ability to work independently and on intra- and inter-departmental teams
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience using a desktop computer in a professional environment
  • Ability to work sitting and/or standing at a workstation while using a computer, keyboard, mouse, and/or phone for three or more hours at a time
  • Ability to travel across the Health Plan service region for meetings and/or training courses as needed
  • Regular and reliable attendance is required
