About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the Population Health Enterprise Operations & Optimization team
  • Advance strategic initiatives focused on healthcare affordability, operational excellence, process improvement, performance reporting, and organizational effectiveness
  • Work with operational leaders, data analysts, project managers, and business stakeholders
  • Contribute to projects impacting quality, cost, and member outcomes
  • Gain exposure to healthcare operations, business intelligence, analytics, process improvement, executive reporting, and enterprise project management
  • Work with a mentor and support key strategic projects
  • Complete assignments based on business needs, departmental priorities, and qualifications
  • Perform technical and non-technical tasks across business-related projects
  • Create and deliver presentations at the end of the internship
  • Maintain confidentiality and protect member privacy
  • Attend regularly and reliably
  • Perform other functions as assigned by management

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Undergraduate or graduate student enrolled in a full-time degree program
  • High School diploma along with proof of continuous college enrollment
  • Must be in good academic standing
  • Preferred experience with Microsoft Excel, Power BI, Tableau, data visualization tools, data management and reporting, Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, Teams, SQL or database fundamentals, data analysis, presentations, and executive summaries
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to interact with technical and non-technical audiences and staff at all levels
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced and changing environment while maintaining attention to detail
  • Ability to work well in a team and establish good working relationships
  • Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and prioritization skills
  • Proactive, creative, and flexible approach to assigned tasks
  • Commitment to continuous improvement
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently and on departmental teams
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience using a desktop computer in a professional environment
  • Ability to sit and/or stand at a workstation while viewing a computer and using keyboard, mouse, and/or phone for three or more hours at a time
  • Ability to travel across the Health Plan service region for meetings and/or training as needed
