About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Oversee complex insurance compliance activities across a commercial loan servicing portfolio
- Perform complex insurance policy compliance reviews and assess risk exposure
- Conduct quality assurance reviews of team and vendor work
- Lead remediation of non-compliant insurance items with borrowers, brokers, and agents
- Manage vendor relationships and workflow coordination
- Monitor and prioritize workloads to meet deadlines and renewal timelines
- Escalate high-risk compliance issues with recommendations for resolution
- Serve as a subject matter expert on insurance requirements and investor-specific guidelines
- Draft and review waiver and exception requests
- Develop, maintain, and enhance policies, procedures, and team resources
- Train, coach, and mentor junior team members
- Contribute to departmental initiatives, cross-functional projects, and industry committees
- Identify and implement process improvements
- Support audit readiness, documentation, data sampling, and audit responses
- Execute lender-placed insurance and remediation strategies
- Manage specialized loan portfolios and required reporting and deliverables
- Perform additional duties and strategic projects as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience preferred
- 4–6 years of experience in commercial insurance, loan servicing, or a related field
- Advanced knowledge of Property, General Liability, Auto, Crime, Flood, Wind/Named Storm, and Earthquake insurance coverages
- Strong understanding of commercial servicing insurance requirements and investor guidelines, including Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and FHA/HUD
- Ability to independently assess risk, identify compliance gaps, and drive remediation with minimal oversight
- Experience mentoring or training team members and contributing to team performance development
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Familiarity with servicing platforms and insurance tracking systems
- Ability to manage high-volume, deadline-driven workloads
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with attention to detail and accuracy
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Leadership, collaboration, and interpersonal effectiveness across cross-functional teams
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment
- Adaptability and resilience in a fast-paced, evolving environment
- Emotional intelligence and ability to influence outcomes while maintaining working relationships
