About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Own data quality within the business area, focusing on legal entities data and sales reporting
  • Define and maintain business glossaries, data definitions and metadata standards
  • Monitor data quality issues, perform root-cause analysis and coordinate remediation
  • Support implementation of data governance policies, standards and best practices
  • Ensure data is compliant, consistent and fit for business and regulatory purposes
  • Gather, analyze and document business requirements for initiatives, process changes and data improvements
  • Translate business needs into functional and data requirements for delivery teams
  • Design and document data solutions, including data mappings, transformation logic and business rules
  • Maintain traceability of business and data requirements and identify dependencies and synergies
  • Analyze data trends, business performance and operational results
  • Provide insights and recommendations for decision-making
  • Support creation of dashboards, KPIs and sales reporting
  • Help business teams understand and use available data effectively
  • Act as key contact between business users, IT, Data Engineering, BI and other stakeholders
  • Build cross-functional relationships to deliver initiatives successfully
  • Facilitate workshops, meetings and discussions
  • Promote a data-driven culture
  • Share knowledge, coach colleagues and support team capability building

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Educational background in Economics, Business Management, Finance, IT or a related field
  • Proven work experience as Data Steward, Business Analyst, Reporting Analyst, IT System Analyst or similar
  • At least 3 years’ professional experience in data governance and data management
  • At least 1 year of experience in banking or another finance industry
  • Good knowledge of bank products, processes and IT systems
  • Very good SQL knowledge
  • Ability to work with large data sets
  • Very good understanding of data warehousing and reporting concepts
  • Ability to apply data profiling techniques
  • Very good understanding of IT database structures and principles
  • Very good knowledge of MS Office and project management tools such as Atlassian JIRA and Confluence
  • Regulatory reporting experience across banking products, systems, processes and financial data
  • Experience with DWH, Tableau, Power BI, cloud data warehouses, Kafka, Iceberg, BIAN, Snowflake, Databricks, ETL or data governance tools is an advantage
  • Data Management or Data Stewardship certification is an advantage
  • Fluent English in spoken and written communication is required
  • Ability to bridge IT and business
  • Problem-solving mindset and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Initiative and a high level of responsibility
