About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Take ownership of data quality within the business area, focusing on legal entities data and sales reporting
- Define and maintain business glossaries, data definitions and metadata standards
- Monitor data quality issues, perform root cause analysis and coordinate remediation actions
- Support implementation of data governance policies, standards and best practices
- Ensure data is compliant, consistent and fit for business and regulatory purposes
- Gather, analyze and document business requirements for new initiatives, process changes and data improvements
- Translate business needs into functional and data requirements for delivery teams
- Design and document data-related solutions, including data mappings, transformation logic and business rules
- Maintain traceability of business and data requirements and identify dependencies and synergies
- Analyze data trends, business performance and operational results
- Provide insights and recommendations for decision-making
- Support creation of dashboards, KPIs and sales reporting
- Help business teams understand and use available data effectively
- Act as key contact between business users, IT, Data Engineering, BI and other stakeholders
- Build cross-functional relationships to ensure successful initiative delivery
- Facilitate workshops, meetings and discussions to align priorities and solutions
- Promote a data-driven culture
- Share knowledge, coach colleagues and support capability building within the team
Requirements
What you’ll need- Educational background in Economics, Business Management, Finance, IT or a related field
- Proven work experience as Data Steward, Business Analyst, Reporting Analyst, IT System Analyst or similar
- At least 3 years’ professional experience in data governance and data management
- At least 1 year of experience in banking or another finance industry
- Good knowledge of bank products, processes and IT systems
- Very good SQL knowledge and ability to work with large data sets
- Very good understanding of data warehousing and reporting concepts
- Ability to apply data profiling techniques
- Very good understanding of IT database structures and principles
- Very good knowledge of MS Office and project management tools such as Atlassian JIRA and Confluence
- Good to advanced business knowledge with regulatory reporting experience across banking products, systems, processes and financial data
- Fluent English in spoken and written communication
- Experience with DWH, Tableau/Power BI, cloud data warehouses, Kafka, Iceberg, BIAN, Snowflake, DataBrick, ETL or Data Governance tools is an advantage
- Data Management or Data Stewardship certification, such as DAMA, is an advantage
- Initiative and high level of responsibility
- Detail orientation and excellent written and oral communication skills
