About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead and mentor a team of Java developers
Drive technical excellence and ensure delivery of high-quality, scalable Java applications
Develop detailed technical designs for scalable Java applications
Define and participate in implementation of the Cards API layer
Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to define technical requirements for Cards applications
Contribute to the codebase and conduct code reviews
Facilitate standardization of development best practices
Modernize legacy applications and migrate them to cloud-native solutions
Plan and provide high-level solution effort estimates
Communicate with business units, IT Operations, and external vendors
Ensure creation of solution design and technical documentation
Identify and escalate risks related to solution architecture and IT decisions
Support effective IT development processes and maintain oversight of development tools and processes

Requirements

What you’ll need

Proven track record of developing and deploying Java applications
Professional proficiency with Java, Spring Framework, and Spring Boot
Experience building cloud-native applications; AWS preferred, Azure acceptable
Familiarity with architecture patterns
Professional knowledge of software development methodologies
Strong knowledge of microservice architecture
Expertise with CI/CD, Git, Docker, and virtualization
Fluent English in spoken and written communication
Experience migrating on-premises applications to cloud applications (nice to have)
Experience in the banking domain (nice to have)
Experience with card payment systems (nice to have)
Experience leading a software development team (nice to have)
Primarily already located within the Baltics
