About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead and mentor a team of Java developers
Drive technical excellence and ensure delivery of high-quality, scalable Java applications
Develop detailed technical designs for Java applications
Define and participate in implementation of the Cards API layer
Define technical requirements for Cards applications with business and IT stakeholders
Contribute to the code base
Conduct code reviews and standardize development practices
Modernize legacy applications and migrate them to cloud-native solutions
Plan and provide high-level solution effort estimates
Communicate with business units, IT Operations, and external vendors
Ensure creation of solution designs and technical documentation
Identify and escalate risks related to solution architecture, IT decisions, and other technical areas
Maintain an overview of IT development processes and tools to ensure effective development processes

Requirements

What you’ll need

Proven track record of developing and deploying Java applications
Professional proficiency with Java, Spring Framework, and Spring Boot
Experience building cloud-native applications; AWS preferred, Azure acceptable
Familiarity with architecture patterns
Professional knowledge of software development methodologies
Strong knowledge of microservice architecture
Expertise with CI/CD, Git, and Docker/Virtualization
Fluent English in spoken and written communication
Experience migrating on-premises applications to cloud applications preferred
Experience in the banking domain preferred
Experience with card payment systems preferred
Experience leading a software development team preferred
