About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Direct and oversee the PAL team toward securing authorization and onboarding new patients
  • Act as PAL-Pending for aligned sales representatives and primary contact for referral sources, patients, and field-based sales representatives
  • Navigate new prescriptions through referral, authorization, and serviceability steps within the BioMatrix pharmacy network
  • Ensure team achievement of service level agreements and onboarding goals
  • Serve as a resource for escalations and escalate cases as appropriate
  • Monitor CareTend queues and team productivity
  • Manage team schedules, time off, quality of work, and personnel or performance issues
  • Build relationships with referral sources and BioMatrix field representatives
  • Keep referral source personnel informed about referral status
  • Collect patient demographic, benefits, clinical history, and prescription information
  • Convey benefit investigation outcomes, out-of-pocket costs, financial responsibility, and assistance options
  • Coordinate with Nurse Coordination on in-home nursing, prescription fulfillment, and shipping
  • Coordinate with Pharmacy Operations on onboarding and ongoing fulfillment
  • Document provider, patient, caregiver, and field team updates in systems of record
  • Track referral turnaround time, volume, workload metrics, and leadership goals
  • Support technology and digital communication channels for stakeholders
  • Communicate referral status, outcomes, and next steps
  • Conduct periodic chart audits for Reimbursement Specialists

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 1-3 years of experience managing patient referral and prescription activities or reimbursement services in infusion or specialty therapies
  • 1-3 years of experience providing customer service in a health care setting, including meeting high-quality service standards and evaluating customer satisfaction
  • Electronic health medical record or pharmacy patient management experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in medical or pharmacy terminology, written or verbal
  • Moderate proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Willingness to travel up to 5% of the time for business purposes
  • Annual participation in required legal and ethical compliance training
  • Compliance with LUX Infusion legal, ethical, and compliance policies and Compliance Manual
  • Ability to prioritize competing demands, manage multiple tasks effectively, and seek guidance when appropriate
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 1-3 years of experience supporting prescribers, healthcare settings, patients, and field-facing communications related to referral or prescription services preferred
  • General understanding of prescription benefits, insurance/payer requirements, and verification processes preferred
  • General experience working in a health care setting or services environment preferred
  • General knowledge of infusion therapy processes and patient needs preferred
