About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Own the product strategy and roadmap for organic discovery and AI visibility across every site on the platform
Own technical foundations across generated page types, including crawlability, indexation, rendering, internal linking, structured data, and page performance
Productize recurring issues through improved defaults, automation, shared capabilities, or safeguards
Make clients' brands, listings, and expertise legible to AI assistants; define measurement for citations and visibility across answer engines
Run experimentation programs using representative site cohorts, establish incremental impact, and scale successful changes
Own migration quality and regression prevention through standards, acceptance criteria, and automated checks
Partner with the website platform team to build search into the platform from the start
Give product teams a low-friction path to correct search implementations
Set platform-level goals for organic performance, AI visibility, and client outcomes
Report performance against goals to leadership

Requirements

What you’ll need

8+ years combined across SEO and product management, including 3+ years as a product manager shipping alongside engineering teams
Experience owning search for a platform hosting many independent customer domains, such as a website builder, hosting or commerce platform, or multi-location/franchise network
Deep technical foundation in rendering and JavaScript SEO, crawl and index management, information architecture, structured data, page performance, and migrations
Experience designing for website visitors, crawlers, and AI agents
Experience with experimentation and measurement, including cohort testing, causal impact analysis, Search Console data at scale, log analysis, and distinguishing results from coincidence
Current point of view on AI search, including how models discover, interpret, and cite brands
Fluent with AI as a working tool for investigating systems, establishing ground truth, prototyping solutions, and unblocking work
Ability to get requirements implemented by teams the candidate does not own
Preferred: experience at a website platform such as Shopify, Wix, Squarespace, Webflow, WordPress, or Duda
Preferred: experience with programmatic or template-driven SEO across large page inventories
Preferred: local and entity-driven search experience
Preferred: conversion and page experience work alongside acquisition
Preferred: background in PropTech, real estate, or another B2B2C category
Preferred: experience building client-facing reporting or diagnostic tools for a non-technical audience
