About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Take ambiguous problems from customer conversations through implementation, deployment, and iteration
- Build interfaces used by consultants and enterprise teams to navigate complex SAP implementations and work with AI agents
- Decide interaction responsiveness, state and data flow, component strategy, loading strategy, and API changes
- Design loading, empty, error, and recovery states with accessibility included
- Identify reusable interaction patterns and design clear component APIs using shared primitives
- Optimize rendering, network requests, caching, prefetching, and feedback during longer operations
- Measure whether frontend performance and product changes improve user outcomes
- Reason about APIs, data models, and backend behavior affecting the frontend
- Make pragmatic build-versus-use decisions
- Communicate decisions clearly and improve engineering workflows, including AI-assisted workflows
- Collaborate with design, engineers, and customers to prototype, ship, and evaluate improvements
Requirements
What you’ll need- Experience shipping and maintaining complex interactive applications
- Understanding of JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, CSS, browser behavior, rendering, state management, and asynchronous data flow
- Strong UX judgment
- Ability to combine customer feedback with analytics, performance monitoring, and session replay
- Ownership of shipped work and its outcomes
- Pragmatic judgment regarding libraries, custom implementations, delivery, and maintainability
- Experience building interfaces for AI-powered products, including workflows where users review, guide, or approve agent actions (nice to have)
- Experience evolving a component library or design system (nice to have)
- Experience on a small team shaping product and design decisions (nice to have)
- Familiarity with complex enterprise workflows or SAP, Salesforce, ERP, or CRM ecosystems (nice to have)
- Ability to work in person in San Francisco 4x/week
