About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Contribute to cleaning up and industrializing a robust but aging PHP Symfony monolith
  • Prepare the migration to Symfony 7
  • Build a unit-testing and smoke-testing framework for critical user journeys
  • Extract payment and billing logic into isolated, testable domain services
  • Support the Front-End Developer in migrating from RequireJS/Bower and Bootstrap 2/3 to Bun, Webpack Encore, and Stimulus
  • Work within the IT department under the direction of the Technical Director
  • Join the technical team to improve the reliability and modernize the event platform

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with Symfony
  • Autonomous, rigorous senior profile
  • Advanced proficiency in PHP 8 and Symfony
  • Proven experience refactoring complex and legacy codebases
  • Strong automated testing mindset, including unit and smoke testing
  • Familiarity with modern front-end environments, including Webpack Encore, Bun, and Stimulus
  • Comfortable using AI-augmented development tools such as Cursor and Claude
  • No aversion to legacy systems: motivated to stabilize and refactor rather than rebuild at all costs
  • PHP 8.1, Symfony 6.4, Doctrine
  • API architectures, ideally API Platform 3
  • PHPUnit
  • Webpack Encore, Bun, Stimulus
  • RequireJS/Bower, Bootstrap 2/3
