About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage client relationships and daily administration of assigned Global Capital Markets accounts
- Handle administrative, operational and risk management activities for GCM transactions
- Serve as the main point of contact for clients and internal and external service partners
- Monitor administrative and operational systems, databases and account activity
- Review, analyze and comment to counsel on operative documents and agreements
- Coordinate risk monitoring and regulatory compliance activities with Legal, Risk, Compliance and Audit
- Research and resolve control and client service issues
- Work with attorneys, financial advisors, interested parties and alliance/service partners to structure and close transactions
- Execute cash flows, fee billing, reporting and tickler processing
- Participate in sales calls, prepare fee proposals, evaluate fees and monitor aged receivables
- Cultivate client and referral-source relationships and identify new business opportunities
- Represent GCM at transaction closings and lead or attend client meetings and presentations
- Identify and implement approved fee increases, discounts and waivers
- Provide coverage and support for other Relationship Managers
- Represent GCM and/or lead departmental projects and Corporate initiatives
- Assist with development and operation of business products and processes
- May supervise and/or mentor less experienced associates
- Adhere to risk, regulatory and internal control standards and escalate issues to management
- Promote an environment that supports belonging and reflects the M&T Bank brand
- Complete other related duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 2 years’ client service experience in Global Capital Markets products or markets, OR a combined minimum of 6 years’ higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 2 years’ client service experience in Global Capital Markets products or markets
- High level of proficiency with personal computers as well as pertinent software
- Prior experience reading, analyzing and interpreting legal documents
- Prior experience calculating amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions and percentages
- Familiarity with corporate structures, relevant laws and regulations
- Proven problem-solving skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical skills
- Preferred: CCTS (Certified Corporate Trust Specialist) certification
- Preferred: Working knowledge of pertinent specialized internal software applications
- Preferred: Managerial or leadership experience
- Preferred: Demonstrated sense of ownership in jobs or projects
