About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Develop software solutions for leverage across multiple teams
Acquire or build tools for use across the engineering organisation
Document and demonstrate solutions through documentation, diagrams, and clear example code
Assist with incident management and fixes for Mable systems
Improve operations through systems analysis and recommendations for tooling or procedural changes
Collect, analyse, and summarise development and service issues
Coach and mentor engineers through pairing, code reviews, and training
Perform system architecture analysis and design
Identify and surface system-level improvements and deficiencies
Use AI tools to code, review, and debug, and coach others on effective use
Build AI into development and CI tooling
Raise the quality and safety of Mable's products and improve engineering tools

Requirements

What you’ll need

Excellent communication skills and team-oriented mindset
Experience mentoring and growing other engineers
Strong grasp of good testing practices and the testing pyramid
Strong grasp of clean code principles
Experience using CI/CD tooling such as Git and GitHub Actions
Experience using AI tools in daily work and understanding where they help
Experience applying DevOps and CI/CD approaches to drive quality in software delivery
Hands-on experience with quality tooling, including static analysis, automated testing, security scanning, and accessibility checks
Experience introducing and championing quality improvements in development teams
