About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Define the technical direction of customer workflows spanning planning, parts management and reporting
Solve complex product problems involving dense data-rich interfaces, large data volumes, offline behavior and multisite scale
Define architecture and engineering practices for newly formed teams
Simplify complex workflows across desktop and mobile
Lead end-to-end design and delivery of large, ambiguous projects from planning through production
Collaborate with product managers, designers and engineering leadership to shape team and adjacent-team roadmaps
Own long-term technical health, including reliability, performance and maintainability
Lead architecture decisions and write technical proposals
Mentor senior and staff engineers
Raise standards for tooling, testing and delivery practices across multiple teams
Join a 5–10 person team
Assume full technical direction of a domain or system within the first six months

Requirements

What you’ll need

10+ years of professional experience designing full-stack web or mobile products
Demonstrated technical leadership beyond a single team
Strong hands-on experience with TypeScript, React and Node.js
Experience designing systems operating at large scale
Experience with iterative, adaptive, mobile-first development
Demonstrated ability to write maintainable and testable code
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to advance problems before specifications are fully defined
Daily use of AI tools in the development process
Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation
GraphQL, React Native or SQL database experience is an asset
Experience with planning or calendar interfaces, data-rich interfaces, offline-first or synchronization architectures, multi-tenant or enterprise platforms, workflow engines, and inventory/transactional systems is an asset
Legally authorized to work in Canada
