About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead one of several engineering teams
  • Manage 5 to 6 developers and own delivery, quality, and day-to-day priorities
  • Partner with Product Managers and Designers to scope, plan, and deliver reliable software
  • Coach and grow developers and support career development
  • Interview candidates and help raise the talent bar
  • Set expectations and provide ongoing feedback
  • Champion CI/CD, code quality, and observability practices
  • Report team impact, progress, and risks to senior leadership
  • Lead reporting, identity and access management, or search platform initiatives depending on team placement

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 2–3 years of people leadership experience, with a track record of leading teams that ship
  • Strong technical foundation in system design, computer science fundamentals, and modern web technologies
  • Experience with technical design, problem-solving, and project management
  • Jira experience preferred
  • Interest in hiring, coaching, and developing engineers
  • Comfort partnering with Recruiting and other managers to hire and scale the organization
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Legally authorized to work in Canada
