Partner with product, design, data, and operations colleagues across every stage of product development
Envision and build new capabilities that help nonprofit partners arrange emergency housing for the people they serve
Develop tools that expand a global supply of free or discounted housing and support donation efforts
Work with engineering and data teammates to break longer-term projects into clear, deliverable milestones
Use data insights and research to identify opportunities for improvement and advocate for them
Ramp up quickly in large, unfamiliar codebases to deliver program-specific features within an established product ecosystem
Adapt quickly as responsibilities evolve in response to emerging global needs

Requirements

What you’ll need

8+ years of professional software engineering experience
Proven experience designing, implementing, and deploying long-term initiatives in collaboration with cross-functional partners
Strong full-stack development experience, ideally with React and TypeScript on the front end and Java or Kotlin on the back end
Solid understanding of engineering best practices, continuous integration, and incremental delivery
Expertise in designing and scaling APIs and the services behind them
Comfort using data insights and user research to make the case for product improvements
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
Familiarity with GraphQL
Fluency in HTML, CSS, and related web technologies
Strong design and user experience sensibilities
