About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Grow Mallory's business with public safety and public sector agencies, with the OMNIA Partners contract as the primary vehicle
- Open new agencies and expand existing ones across departments
- Move quotes through to closed orders
- Work closely with the Public Safety customer service team, vendors and the OMNIA Partners field team
- Open new agencies and expand existing ones through outbound calls, email, virtual meetings and targeted outreach
- Present the OMNIA Partners contract and explain eligibility, competitive solicitation requirements and account setup
- Grow across departments within cities or counties, including police, fire, corrections, public works, utilities, parks and emergency management
- Respond to quote requests, RFQs and informal bids, and assess when formal bids are worth pursuing
- Help agencies spend grant funding on schedule with complete quotes and documentation
- Consolidate agency requirements across multiple manufacturers into one contract and order
- Coordinate samples, demos, product training and pricing support with manufacturer partners
- Maintain accounts, contacts, opportunities and next steps in Dynamics CRM
- Support contract compliance, accurate pricing, sales reporting and OMNIA administrative requirements
- Collaborate with OMNIA Partners field representatives and Mallory's outside sales team
- Stay current on public safety products, procurement trends, funding programs and competitor activity
Requirements
What you’ll need- 2+ years of sales experience selling to government or public sector buyers
- Experience selling to law enforcement, fire/EMS or other public safety agencies, or selling safety/PPE products
- Working knowledge of public procurement: RFQs, formal bids, purchase orders, sole source, and how agencies fund purchases
- Comfort with high-volume outbound prospecting and the rejection that comes with it
- Strong written and verbal communication; quotes and emails that are fast, accurate and clear
- Self-discipline to hold a number and manage your own day, including working remotely
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency with a CRM and Microsoft Office
- Experience selling through cooperative purchasing contracts (OMNIA Partners, Sourcewell, TIPS, NASPO ValuePoint, state contracts, GSA)
- Experience with law enforcement, fire or emergency response products or end users
- Familiarity with government grant programs and grant-driven purchasing timelines
- Experience with bid portals and tools such as Bonfire, BidNet, OpenGov, SAM.gov or GovSpend
- Background as a first responder, in public safety administration, or in government procurement
- Knowledge of Mallory's product categories, including fall protection and rescue, gas detection, respiratory and SCBA, and duty gear
