About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own permitting and entitlements across all US markets, including Tulsa, Dallas Fort Worth, and future markets.
- Secure zoning clearances, use determinations, variances, and special and conditional use approvals through decision.
- Lead pre-application meetings, technical negotiations with planning staff, and presentations at planning commission and hearings alongside corporate affairs.
- Build and maintain relationships with planning departments across operating and prospective jurisdictions.
- Assess permitting requirements for prospective cities and regions, including jurisdictional processes, zoning and land use, approval routes, timelines, and constraints.
- Work with architects and engineers to align submissions with local requirements and incorporate constraints into standard site design.
- Select and manage zoning consultants, entitlement specialists, and planning advisors.
- Own permitting and zoning criteria used to rate sites in company tools.
- Collaborate with Operations, Commercial, Corporate Affairs, and Site Delivery.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Substantial experience securing land use, ordinance-based and construction approvals across multiple jurisdictions, with a track record of scaling a permitting programme rather than running individual applications.
- Credible with planning staff and technical reviewers; understanding of planning processes, decision-makers, and building approval cases.
- Experience as a city planner or in an entitlements consultancy is directly relevant.
- Ability to read site plans and construction drawings and work substantively with architects and engineers.
- Experience managing a large pipeline of concurrent approvals through structured project systems.
- Dallas based.
- Travel may be up to 75% during active market entry.
