About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage the end-to-end payroll process for a portfolio of local and international clients
  • Ensure payroll is processed accurately and within established deadlines
  • Handle payroll-related queries and provide timely support to clients
  • Calculate overtime, bonuses, commissions, allowances, leave balances, and other payroll-related adjustments
  • Process payroll changes, including new employee registrations, terminations, salary amendments, and promotions
  • Prepare and submit statutory payroll documentation and employment-related forms to the relevant authorities
  • Maintain accurate payroll records and employee data
  • Stay updated on changes to Maltese employment, taxation, and social security legislation
  • Liaise with government authorities and regulatory bodies on payroll-related matters when required
  • Assist in identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance payroll accuracy and efficiency

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Previous experience in payroll administration or a similar role
  • An A-Level standard of education or equivalent
  • A payroll-related qualification or certification will be considered an asset
  • Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
  • Good knowledge of Maltese employment legislation, payroll procedures, and social security regulations
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Strong communication skills in English, both written and spoken
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Experience using payroll software, including Shireburn, will be considered an advantage
  • Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
