About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Complete independent, objective Quality Assurance reviews of mortgage and loan credit transactions
  • Provide reasonable assurance that Manulife Bank credit risk policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines are followed
  • Conduct annual reviews of a portfolio of Specialized Lending loans
  • Gather and evaluate insurance and Bank documentation
  • Review loans using established review methodologies and identify actual and potential loan issues early
  • Highlight and action non-compliant loans according to file escalation processes
  • Request, follow up on, review, and evaluate documentation for Level 1 or Level 2 annual reviews
  • Complete loan reviews in a timely, efficient, and professional manner
  • Track, document, and update assigned, completed, and in-process reviews
  • Meet monthly completion targets for Quick and Full annual reviews
  • Complete loan withdrawal requests and updates/requests to Credit Risk Management
  • Respond to other customer enquiries in a timely manner
  • Build professional relationships and collaborate with Account Management, Sales, Account Support, and Credit Risk Management

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5 years of experience in underwriting/loan review/credit review of Personal and/or Commercial loan products
  • Firm grasp of lending credit principles
  • Ability to comprehend insurance policy documents
  • Experience with financial statement analysis is an asset
  • Strong communication skills and ability to convey complex ideas clearly and concisely
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines efficiently and accurately
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills
  • High level of professionalism, self-motivation, and sense of urgency
  • Ability to work successfully with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrated ability to use MS Office, including MS Word and Excel, and internet-based communication mediums
  • Knowledge of Manulife Bank systems is an asset
  • Exemplary proficiency in spoken and written English
  • French bilingualism is an asset; required for successful candidates in Québec to support clients from various provinces outside Québec
