About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide case consultation, sales, product, and marketing support to select advisors and intermediaries
  • Drive sales of individual life and living benefits insurance
  • Partner with wholesalers and insurance product and marketing contacts to develop and grow regional business
  • Identify opportunities and activities to generate profitable business growth
  • Develop and execute 90-day and annual business development plans
  • Develop and implement marketing support and new sales strategies for advisors
  • Manage relationships with key advisors and intermediaries through product training, case consultation, joint field work, sales proposal design, and point-of-sale assistance
  • Develop professional working relationships with Manulife field partners
  • Maintain face-to-face contact with regional advisors and record daily activities in the contact management system
  • Conduct sales meetings and seminars to train advisors on Manulife products, services, and approved sales concepts
  • Assist advisors in developing sales opportunities with their clients
  • Resolve problem situations involving intermediaries and individuals in the region
  • Develop and share sales, marketing, business development ideas, and best practices
  • Represent and promote Manulife in the local financial community and build relationships with advisors and industry associations
  • Perform frontline business risk management through compliance and company-policy support and implementation

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Previous industry sales experience
  • University Degree or equivalent industry experience
  • Knowledge and expertise in personal and corporate taxation and financial planning
  • Attained or working on relevant professional designations (CLU, CFP, and CH.F.C.)
  • Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle
  • Knowledge of regulatory issues impacting the sale of life insurance
  • In-depth knowledge of the sales process
  • Expert knowledge of Manulife individual insurance products and systems
  • Strong knowledge of marketing concepts and product applications
  • Basic understanding of the regulatory/legal environment and issues
  • Strong knowledge of competitive positioning
