About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Gather, interpret, and document business, functional, and user requirements
  • Research and document workflow, procedure, and business-process opportunities and issues
  • Analyze information, develop creative solutions, and recommend approaches aligned with business needs and industry best practices
  • Coordinate process changes, system enhancements, and product implementations
  • Develop test plans supporting successful delivery
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Architecture teams to create detailed system maps showing data flows, processes, dependencies, and interactions
  • Translate business and user requirements into epics, features, and user stories
  • Facilitate collaborative design sessions with project implementation teams and stakeholders
  • Establish acceptance criteria, testing frameworks, and standards
  • Support translation of user stories and use cases into test conditions and expected results for product, performance, and user acceptance testing
  • Contribute to solutions supporting New Business and Underwriting platforms and processes
  • Help shape the organization’s technology landscape and align systems and solutions with business strategies

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant practical experience
  • 5 or more years of experience in business systems analysis or a related field
  • Demonstrated analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
  • Experience translating complex business requirements into clear technical or functional specifications
  • Ability to provide professional advice, make informed decisions, and lead process or program execution
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a changing environment
  • Experience using AI-enabled tools for requirements elicitation, documentation, analysis, process modelling, stakeholder communication, and testing support
  • Preferred: in-depth knowledge of business analysis principles, methodologies, and technology systems
  • Preferred: experience in the life insurance industry
  • Preferred: strong understanding of Agile methodologies and product management principles
  • Preferred: knowledge of system design, systems analysis, and user-testing best practices
  • Preferred: experience applying business analysis tools and techniques
  • Preferred: familiarity with enterprise-level systems and applications
  • Preferred: relevant professional certification such as CBAP or PMI-PBA
