About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead analysis of reinsurance treaties and legal entities
- Prepare and assess reinsurance results
- Present analytical findings
- Review and implement new reinsurance treaties
- Ensure consistent and accurate implementation of reinsurance calculations and accounting models across global operations
- Manage and own special projects related to new accounting standards, operational initiatives, or treaty agreements
- Prepare and analyze reinsurance settlements and reporting for internal and external treaties
- Compile and review reinsurance-related footnote disclosures and Annual Financial Statement schedules
- Present reinsurance financial results to stakeholders quarterly
- Define and evaluate new reinsurance treaty accounting models and calculation methodologies
- Collaborate with global IT, Actuarial, Finance, and Investments teams on system and process changes
- Mentor team members and share best practices
Requirements
What you’ll need- 6+ years of experience in an insurance or financial services environment
- University degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
- Ability to learn and apply a large amount of technical accounting material
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel and Power BI
- Self-starter capable of working independently, with attention to detail and strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to multitask and manage priorities in a demanding and deadline-oriented environment
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, written and verbal
- Comfortable working with senior levels of management
- Well-organized and innovative with an aptitude for automation/process improvements
- Commitment to understanding complex financial transactions and maintaining strong internal controls
- Able to work as part of a team with a positive attitude and strong work ethic
- CPA designation preferred
