About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Drive sales in wholesale/retail and foodservice accounts
  • Secure all new item placements
  • Integrate sales initiatives with Senior Management, Sales, Marketing, Accounting, IT, and other departments
  • Work with Sales Team Members to secure new, profitable business
  • Manage and grow existing regional account business
  • Execute approved plans to achieve sales objectives and profit-plan results
  • Conduct business reviews and maintain customer relations at retail corporate offices and with field management staff
  • Seek out new retail, foodservice, and distributor business
  • Maintain relationships with corporate buyers, regional decision makers, and field staff
  • Manage co-op dollars and advertising allowances for products
  • Assist with Maola's credit-rating and Accounts Receivable policies
  • Coordinate pricing for assigned accounts under Sales Manager direction
  • Communicate competitive activity affecting company volume and product merchandising
  • Use existing and future systems tools for sales analysis and reporting
  • Prepare weekly itineraries and communicate goals and sales objectives
  • Provide a formal weekly sales-activity report to the Senior Director of Sales
  • Perform category management using fact-based selling skills and market data
  • Lead the sales effort on all schematics
  • Submit trade-show entry forms and arrange personnel, booth shipping, decorations, and samples
  • Set up and dismantle trade-show booths
  • Present product samples to potential customers and compare them with competitors' products
  • Observe antitrust laws and implement pricing fairly and legally
  • Visit retail customers, with travel up to 50% of the time and overnight travel up to 20%
  • Handle special projects as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Must reside in the North Carolina area
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field
  • At least 5 years of account management experience in food or dairy related sales
  • Must hold and maintain a valid driver's license
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively through oral, written, visual, and non-verbal channels
  • Ability to take responsibility for actions and anticipate challenges
  • Customer-focused approach
  • Ability to identify opportunities and address potential threats proactively
  • Ability to identify and address complex issues with minimal guidance
  • Ability to collaborate toward common goals
  • Ability to talk and hear; stand, walk, sit, use hands, and reach with hands and arms
  • Ability to stoop, kneel, or crouch repeatedly
  • Ability to frequently lift and/or move 25 to 50 pounds
  • Close vision for computer work and ability to operate a motor vehicle
