About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop and execute waste technology strategies, business plans, goals, and best practices
- Participate in audits and conduct site reviews
- Develop scorecards and monitor progress against goals
- Provide KPI, weekly, monthly, and senior management updates on waste-related performance, environmental issues, and initiatives
- Identify and advance waste management projects, process improvements, and disposal opportunities
- Develop compliance strategies for environmental regulations, complex project permitting, and emerging regulatory requirements
- Develop regulatory analysis and compliance strategy to assist Legal
- Mentor site environmental professionals through tools, training, and guidance
- Oversee annual face-to-face meetings and monthly discussion forums for site waste management personnel
- Manage relationships with vendors, consultants, technology licensors, equipment providers, and suppliers
- Coordinate consultant activities and review technical work products
- Support software tool use and evaluate new treatment and disposal technologies
- Support business development and identify innovation opportunities through industry engagement, literature review, technology evaluation, and collaboration with external partners
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma or GED required with fifteen (15) years of relevant environmental experience in process industry, or Bachelor’s degree in a HESS related field, Engineering degree, or advanced degree with seven (7) years of relevant environmental experience
- Education must be obtained/completed prior to start date
- Detailed knowledge on current and proposed environmental rules and regulations
- Ability to communicate impact plans to local leadership for budget development
- Ability to review engineering designs and specifications for environmental compliance
- Comprehensive knowledge of facilities and environmental rules and regulations
- Ability to initiate steps to avoid recurrence of environmental problems
- Technical and operational expertise in process technologies preferred
- Operations experience including startup, shutdown, optimization and troubleshooting preferred
- Working knowledge of wastewater and equipment preferred
- Travel expected: up to 50%
