About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Monitor process performance and identify opportunities for improving yield, energy efficiency, and reliability
Assist in planning test runs and develop projects to address opportunities
Collaborate with operations, engineering, and maintenance teams to resolve operational challenges
Develop relationships with console and field operators
Participate in hazard evaluations, incident investigations, management of change, and Process Hazard Analysis (PHA)
Support turnaround/outage execution, including reviewing turnaround planning, scope development, and post-event evaluations
Maintain and update process documentation
Troubleshoot and maintain unit mass balance within tolerance
Participate in technology advisory groups

Requirements

What you’ll need

Required major: Chemical Engineering
Bachelor’s degree
Candidates must be authorized to work in the US on a full-time indefinite basis without the need for employment visa sponsorship now or in the future
Must be a former Intern of Marathon Petroleum Corporation
A valid driver’s license is required
Ability to monitor process performance and identify opportunities for improving yield, energy efficiency, and reliability
