About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Monitor process performance and identify opportunities to improve yield, energy efficiency, and reliability
- Assist in planning test runs and develop projects to address improvement opportunities
- Collaborate with operations, engineering, and maintenance teams to resolve operational challenges
- Develop relationships with console and field operators
- Participate in hazard evaluations, incident investigations, management of change, and Process Hazard Analysis (PHA)
- Support turnaround/outage execution, including reviewing turnaround planning, scope development, and post-event evaluations
- Maintain and update process documentation
- Troubleshoot and maintain unit mass balance within tolerance
- Participate in technology advisory groups
Requirements
What you’ll need- Required major: Chemical Engineering
- Bachelor’s degree
- Candidates must be authorized to work in the US on a full-time indefinite basis without the need for employment visa sponsorship now or in the future
- Must be a former Intern of Marathon Petroleum Corporation
- A valid driver’s license is required
- Work at MPC sites in Alaska, California, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Minnesota, New Mexico, North Dakota, Ohio, Texas, Utah, or Washington State
