About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop a strong understanding of Rail business processes, including rail services, inside-the-gate operations, gate-to-gate operations, maintenance and reliability, and associated commercial and accounting processes
  • Lead improvement recommendations and present them to senior and executive management and global teams
  • Lead client meetings with business, development teams, and third-party solution providers
  • Gather business requirements, map current and future-state processes, perform fit-gap analysis, and develop functional specifications
  • Recommend appropriate systems alternatives and enhancements
  • Partner with business teams to investigate business performance and support business planning
  • Lead cost-benefit and return-on-investment analyses for proposed systems
  • Support product and application lifecycle activities, including roadmap development, backlog prioritization, release planning, application support readiness, and legacy capability retirement
  • Coordinate vendor-supported solutions, including functional expectations, issue resolution, enhancement priorities, service performance, and business alignment
  • Mentor colleagues and improve team capabilities across IT Service Management disciplines
  • Lead cross-functional testing strategy development and execution
  • Plan, conduct, and document user stories and user feedback; communicate feedback to senior leaders

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, related field or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of relevant experience required
  • Logistics domain knowledge required
  • Experience with rail operations, transportation, and maintenance & reliability strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of Agile Methodology
