About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Translate Middle Office risk oversight, performance measurement, data, reporting, and workflow needs into business processes, requirements, and technology solutions
  • Document current- and target-state processes and data flows
  • Clarify ownership and controls, identify gaps, and recommend improvement opportunities
  • Lead working sessions with Middle Office and cross-functional partners
  • Translate operational P&L, risk, reporting, and governance needs into requirements and user stories
  • Recommend system alternatives and enhancements
  • Develop approaches to investigate business performance and support business planning
  • Lead cost-benefit and return-on-investment analyses for proposed systems
  • Serve as a senior IT Service Management resource and mentor colleagues
  • Lead cross-functional testing strategy, including requirements traceability, user acceptance testing, data and business-rule validation, defect resolution, control evidence, and implementation readiness
  • Plan, conduct, and document user stories and user feedback
  • Communicate technology improvement feedback to senior leaders
  • Present improvement recommendations to senior and executive management and global teams

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems preferred, related field or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of relevant experience required
  • Experience in the oil and gas, refining, midstream, commodity trading, or energy industry preferred
  • Understanding of physical and financial commodity transactions and value-chain operations preferred
  • Experience supporting Middle Office, commercial risk, or performance-measurement capabilities preferred
  • Experience documenting and improving business processes, data flows, business rules, controls, ownership, and system interactions across Commercial, Middle Office, Finance, Accounting, Risk, and Digital teams
  • Experience with energy trading and risk management systems, risk data platforms, enterprise resource planning systems, market-data feeds, data integration, reporting, analytics, data lineage, and data governance preferred
  • Experience leading requirements definition, user acceptance testing, data and business-rule validation, control evidence, issue resolution, and implementation readiness for complex, cross-functional technology solutions
  • Knowledge of AI fundamentals, change management, Agile methodologies, business analysis, business process modeling and redesign, incident management, quality assurance, requirements management, SDLC, and specifications development
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology listed in the education section
