About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design, evolve, and govern secure, scalable hybrid and multi-cloud platforms aligned with enterprise business needs
  • Identify performance bottlenecks, conduct root cause analysis, and implement solutions to improve platform and system performance and resource utilization
  • Establish performance benchmarks, conduct capacity planning, and collaborate with junior engineers and cross-functional teams
  • Develop troubleshooting procedures, minimize platform and system downtime, and manage escalated and complex technical support issues
  • Perform advanced system tuning and optimization using IT Service Management practices
  • Plan platform and system backups; lead disaster recovery and system recovery design and testing
  • Establish automated, resilient, observable platforms with robust backup, recovery, and cybersecurity practices
  • Analyze performance and utilization data, prepare infrastructure performance reports, and implement corrective actions
  • Design and configure complex platforms and systems across data centers, Azure and other cloud environments, containers, and edge technologies
  • Integrate data, systems, IoT, and drone platforms
  • Build and scale infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, automation, and policy-driven practices
  • Lead infrastructure modernization strategy and balance technical, operational, and business priorities
  • Lead cross-functional programs and vendor partnerships
  • Create and maintain platform and system knowledge bases, troubleshooting guides, configuration documentation, and best practices
  • Organize training, mentor junior engineers, and promote cross-team collaboration

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, related field or equivalent experience preferred
  • 5+ years of relevant experience required
  • Experience racking infrastructure hardware such as Dell, Hewlitt Packard, or others required
  • Experience managing and supporting server infrastructure including Linux, Windows Server, VMware, Hyper-V/Nutanix, and storage systems required
  • Experience developing and executing plans to refresh end-of-life infrastructure hardware, including resource requirements, cost projections, migration methodology, and rightsizing processes required
  • Experience architecting and designing integrations with cloud-based systems such as Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, or others preferred
  • Experience in backup and recovery strategies and systems such as Rubrik, including familiarity with backup architecture and leading disaster recovery or business continuity exercises preferred
  • Proven ownership of large-scale initiatives preferred
  • Experience operating in regulated or complex environments preferred
  • Knowledge of cloud infrastructure management, computer networking, cybersecurity risk management, DevSecOps, Infrastructure as Code, IT infrastructure management, performance monitoring, policy management, process automation, systems administration, systems testing, systems integration, and troubleshooting
