About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead and manage a team of front-end, backend, and full-stack software engineers
  • Develop people and processes supporting timely delivery of innovative, secure, and high-quality solutions
  • Partner with DevSecOps and Software Architecture teams
  • Provide hands-on management for solution design, development, testing, and maintenance
  • Develop understanding of product construction and contribute technically to solutions
  • Build relationships with Product Leaders and Discipline Leaders
  • Lead, guide, and set direction for the software engineering team
  • Conduct employee development, performance reviews, pay reviews, and staffing decisions
  • Manage daily team operations, mentorship, culture, recruitment, retention, and performance
  • Plan and lead low- to medium-complexity IT projects, ensuring timely, budgeted, and quality delivery
  • Ensure technology system availability, reliability, and security
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and internal groups to identify needs and deliver solutions
  • Drive agile and DevSecOps software delivery and secure product releases
  • Establish engineering roadmaps aligned with business objectives
  • Participate in architectural discussions and ensure solution consistency
  • Communicate delivery progress, risks, and achievements to stakeholders
  • Lead change and transformation initiatives
  • Manage budgets, track metrics, ensure IT policy compliance, and identify technology adoption and process optimization opportunities

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or another computer-related field required
  • 10+ years of diversified IT experience required
  • 3+ years of direct or indirect leadership experience required
  • Strong understanding of software development design and Agile practices/methodologies
  • Excellent knowledge of software reliability best practices and automated testing preferred
  • Excellent knowledge of C++, C#, Java, Python, JavaScript, Blazor, ReactJS, or Angular
  • Excellent knowledge of DBMS and TSQL or PL/SQL
  • Working knowledge of DevSecOps principles, CI/CD pipelines, automation tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and Azure DevOps, Infrastructure as Code, and application security practices preferred
  • Experience migrating monolithic architectures to a modern technology stack
  • Experience developing cloud-native solutions, including Azure
  • Strong experience with development platforms including Azure, Salesforce, Docker, and Kubernetes
  • Experience building APIs for internal and external products
  • Excellent organizational, leadership, decision-making, and communication skills
  • Oil & Gas industry background and experience preferred
